Introduction to Rockfort Engineering
Rockfort Engineering was formed in 2013 by Angus Lyon following a successful career spanning all walks of automotive engineering from OEM and Tier1 through to new-tech start-ups and top level motorsport. Rockfort comprises a team of highly skilled engineers and technicians, many with both Formula 1 and automotive experience. We are specialists in complex electronic systems design, integration and control for road, prototype and track applications.
Rockfort’s skill set includes ISO26262, the current automotive industry safety standard for complex electronics systems. With safety being increasingly important in the technologies we develop, our core engineering philosophy is based upon this standard and applied in all projects that we undertake. This ensures that systems are safe and designed correctly from the outset thereby reducing development times and ensuring a ‘right first time’ result. This leads to lower project costs through reduced wasted resource and a reduction or elimination of on-vehicle failures. This has been proven in recent projects including F1 brake-by-wire and full electric-vehicle powertrain systems in both road and racing applications.
Rockfort is currently developing world leading efficiency powertrains for motorsport, hybrid and electric systems for passenger and heavy goods vehicles and associated ancillaries such as active brake systems.
Projects are approached from the customer’s perspective ensuring that we deliver what is required with an in-depth knowledge of the technologies and techniques required to deliver the final product. Whether a prototype or production development, we apply the same philosophies and procedures ensuring safety and delivery success are achieved with the minimum of waste.
